Take a moment and imagine a leather Facebook or Myspace, and then imagine it being run by and for kinky folks. That is exactly what Fetlife is! It is the coolest new community site out there for pervs, and it is absolutely 100% free. I had been hearing the buzz about this new spot on the web from a few of my lifestyle friends, and I finally decided to go set up an account and take a look myself. Many years ago I had been on other sites that promised community and allowed free communication, but since those sites have sold to other companies their soul has left the building and communication costs money. It is also communication that is no longer under the nurturing ownership of perverts with a personal interest in our tribe. I'd lost interest, and so had most of my friends. I was hoping that this site could be some of what I was missing on the old ones. Wow, I wasn't disappointed! I immediately ran into some of my old friends, and then ran off to recruit new ones. It is easy to sign up. Once you have, then you set up a profile. You can add pics to it, and you'll never run into that "you have to have such and such membership" to view pics or show them to others. There are social groups here with ongoing forum conversations, so you can sign up for topics that interest you (or create your own groups). There is a mail system that acts like a personal bulletin board for private conversations, so you don't lose track of what has been said to anyone. You can post writing, see what your friends are doing, and a lot more. A lot of talented pervs are posting writing and engaging in conversation here. I've met a lot of new friends. There is a small amount of advertising, but it is done really tastefully and never gets in the way. You can write to the folks that run the site, and they will actually write you back. I've been in love with this place and raving about it for the last several weeks. This is one of the few sites that didn't ask for review. I sought out the owner and asked him if I could post one. I'll admit that this takes me slightly out of my element, as I have no experience as a swinger. I'm more of a leatherfolk person. So, I looked at this site through beginner's eyes. You can sign up for a free 7 day trial membership that will let you look around and get familiar with the site (without supplying a credit card). It is a pretty painless procedure in which you create a username and supply an email address. They will give you the opportunity to create a profile at that time, but you can skip that if you just want to look around. Profiles are for couples, women, and men. You can designate what sort of "swap" arrangement you are interested in, and whether or not you plan on being in the same room as your partner during the experience. The site has a list of "validated" members who have been reviewed by other members of the site. There are special interest communities, party listings, forums, Q&A areas, a swinger's dictionary, an IM feature, a lively chat area, and more. I went in and spoke to the members, and they seemed very happy with the service. Customer service info is easy to find, and it includes a help desk number. I tried to write an email as a trial member, and I had no problem sending it. It looks like a nice service! If you are at all interested in the swinging lifestyle, I suggest you at least give the trial a chance. It will let you look around without making any kind of commitment, and that validation process seems very popular with the members. This is another one of those generic personals sites that offers a free membership. Once you are inside, you'll realize that you can't do much of anything without a subscription. The profiles have the usual vanilla info, and they can also have pics and such. If you are a paid member you can send and reply to messages whenever you want, see your admirers, keep a buddy list, use advanced searches, and IM. I searched for US females 18-35 with photos, and came up with slightly over 10,000 results. When I checked the profiles, many seemed geared toward sex exclusively and a bit "fake". It set off my escort alarm system, but maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age. I didn't find any helpful information about membership privileges at different levels before joining, and the sign up is really a blind experience. I wasn't impressed. I am not going to give a "quality" rating to any personals sites with that kind of blind sign up anymore, they are just too annoying. - Vamp

Out of the sites I've reviewed so far only two have gotten me hot and bothered, and World Wide Wives is one of them. World Wide Wives is a personal networking site that has a huge display of user submitted photos and videos. The photos and videos vary in quality which is pretty standard for amateur submission sites, but they are fun to watch when you know that the folks in them are having fun and getting off. The personals section of the site is quite well done. Members are able to search for others based on similar interests and sexual compatibility. If you've never heard of Adult Friendfinder, I'd be surprised. One of the original adult dating sites, and probably one of the largest, they regularly have tens of thousands of users online at any given time. The site has expanded to include weblogs for their users - you can browse these without even registering for a free account, though they are truly a mixed bag. I found some real blogs, sometimes people creating blogs just to make a single post bitching about something. You can also browse the listings without registering, though if you want to look at a full profile you have to register for a free membership. Once you've registered free, you can see all the various pay options to get even more capabilities. One of the complaints I always hear about this particular site is the vast number of "professionals" who put up profiles. I will say that there are lots of those on any personal ad site that focuses on sex. There are things you can do to up your odds of real responses from real people, including having a photo in your profile (men, a tip here: women like photos of your FACE as well as your cock. Bondage.com has been online for almost a decade now, starting from their origins as a labor of love produced by a couple of self-described web geeks from San Francisco. There is a good deal here that is free, starting with the highly active discussion forums and personals ads. You can post, browse, read, get email and so on all for free and it's a wonderful resource for that. If you upgrade to a paid membership (which we suggest if you use the site frequently, not unlike supporting public radio if you use it) you get a plethora of other features, like the personal ad matchmaker service, the huge photo archive (74,000+ images), video, and their library of BDSM articles and resources. All in all, a fabulous community site that we can't recommend highly enough.

Christian? Kinky? Looking for a place online where those two things go great together? This is the Christian equivalent of an early bondage.com. The entire site is free, and there are no "pay this fee and receive more options" things that you see on a lot of other sites. There is chat, instant messaging, an internal mail system, a free blog option, interest groups, a forum, classified ads section, knowledge center (full of articles that are actually pretty interesting), and a lot more. How is this site different? Well, it doesn't have any nude pictures for a start. There is also an online searchable Bible. You find a lot of people searching for marriage partners or long term relationships, and most (but not all) are Christians of some sort. The profile questions are also different. Instead of seeing things like anal sex addressed, they ask things like how often you go to church. Signing up is easy, but do be aware that you'll get emails from them. Like many other personal sites on the internet you must have a membership to directly message another member and these costs vary. You can become a lifetime member for only $39.95, or you can try one of the various other options that range from $4.95 - $49.95. The site is quite well done, clean graphics, easy to read, and easy to use. This is a very simple personals site that goes about things a bit different than most. The profile system essentially lets you chose a username, check some boxes to show who you are looking for, list the country you live in (and postcode if you are in the UK), upload pics and movies, and add "tags". Tags are something that people in online journal land are very familiar with. In essence, they are keywords. So, if you were looking for a threesome you might put "3some" in your profile. People on this site search for others by clicking on tags that interest them. So, for example, if you click on "3some" you will get a whole list of people looking for that activity. If you want to list something more substantial about yourself, you can post a message. The messages are searchable, so you can look for people using certain words/phrases. You can sign up for free and do quite a bit on the site, or you can go for the unlimited access and freedom of their premium package at the cost of £18/month. They don't have you sign up with a contract, so you are free to go at any time. It looks like they are trying to serve the swinger population, but they are new and these sorts of sites take awhile to build. At the moment, you get a rather short list of what appears to be single men looking for casual sex. They have a swinger's guide on the site with terms used within that community. It is hard to start a dating site, because you have to wait for people to show up and make proper use of it. Some sites seem to attract a lot of folks, and have high quality members. Other sites tend to remain empty or start to collect dubious profiles. This site is the latter. In the inbox I was greeted with two spam emails from other members who were trying to scam me. (You are familiar with the Nigerian Bank hustle, I imagine. We all are. Who falls for that?) Anyway, aside from that you find porn star looking women that are 19 and begging to chat with you. Here is a clue, 19 year old gorgeous blondes with great photography budgets don't beg people to chat. They just don't. These are phonesex operators, adult webmistresses, and escorts. There are some very legitimate profiles as well, you just have to weed through the crud to find them. Many of the profiles were non-English, so I had no idea what was going on with those. Members can post ads, pictures, and video introductions for free. There is also chat, online message boards, and a blog. All of these are pretty much untouched, if not literally untouched. Eroticy.com is first and foremost an online adult dating/matchmaking service. They have so much other content though, that the dating part can almost get lost in the overwhelming options you find upon entering the site. Not only do they have the regular parts of a personals site, they also give members access to the Camz network of webcam shows, photo and streaming video sections, articles, quizzes, surveys, discussion forums and more. That was all well and good, but I'm going to focus on the personals aspect. You can browse by who is online, then narrow that down by gender. You can also search for users with a far more specific criteria, like geographical distance, gender, height, weight, interests, etc. I did notice that this site is definitely geared towards people who want "discrete encounters", cyber relationships, swinging, etc. as opposed to any type of regular romantic relationship. They have a feature where you can have your profile validated by sending in current photo ID. As far as I could tell, there was no way to browse only verified profiles though. All in all, it wasn't as well-organized and detailed as some personals sites, but it is one of the bigger ones out there.
